Meowy Christmas!

We had a cat named Christmas growing up...we actually named our pets after the holidays closest to when we got the pet...so Christmas was a Christmas present after another cat had passed on... We also had Easter the cocker mutt and St. Patrick, who was the coolest rumpy Manx that we rescued from the Humane Society...and numerous fish named ridiculous names like "The Fourth of July."

So in honor of Christmas the cat (I need to find a picture to post of him), I leave you with this:

I went to the official Walter Reed Army Medical Center website to verify the address, and it is actually the Red Cross who is sponsoring the card drive, not Walter Reed.

So please send your cards to the address below postmarked by DECEMBER 10TH:

I guess it pays to fact check before sending along the fadish e-mails we all get. I figure that if you really want to send a card, you are safe to mail it by tomorrow, as these cards are for both international and domestic distribution.

No matter what your position on the war, these men and women have been through hell and they need all of us to remind them why they went through so much. It's the least that we can do, even if your funds are short this year. There are so many ways that we can give other than money. You might even donate an hour or two to your favorite local charity -- vetran's, environment, animal shelter, low-income clinic, etc. -- to share some of what you have in plenty... hope.

I seriously can't believe I'm uploading this, but yes...I'm putting a video out there of us group of "grown-ups" playing Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party after stuffing our faces on Thanksgiving. We're doing the disco game - and I guess I'm a little into it. I love the dancing on this game - super fun, and I seem to manage to work up a sweat!

For the parents out there - this isn't a little kid friendly game - the rabbids are a little crazy, and there's some interesting content in the games.

This is what we found when we got home this morning from the Turkey Trot. I rounded the corner to the kitchen, and stopped in my tracks when I saw this:

The culprit:

There was baker's sugar all over the floor, he poked holes in the carton, and then seems to have played in the sugar. What I don't understand is how he managed to keep the 4 lb. carton upright after knocking it off the shelf. Maybe I should set up a "Radar cam" to try to figure it out...but then he would be on good behavior if I tried that.

Today, I'm thankful that Steve had the foresight to put the apple pie in the fridge before we left this morning. I fear the pie may have been the victim if he had not done that!

PS - if that ugly linoleum and the pink carpet aren't signs that we need to get our own place, I don't know what is!
